The argument for gay Jesus

Judging by the anger among many Christians toward the Da Vinci Code book and movie, some find it difficult to wrap their minds around the concept of Jesus having been sexually active. The thoughts that he might have been gay are even more difficult to handle.

"J Richards" suggested that Mark 7:14-16 shows that Jesus approves of homosexual acts. The critical phrase reads: "There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him..." Richards suggests that Jesus gave great emphasis to this teaching, directing it to everyone. Richards suggests that the sentence refers to dietary laws and also extends to  "blood transfusions, medication, organ transplants, and artificial insemination" and to homosexual acts as well.

Advocating illegal drug use--or even just saying something that another person might interpret as advocating illegal drug use--is now grounds for suspending First Amendment rights, thanks to a 5-4 ruling by the Supreme Court against the student in the "Bong Hits 4 Jesus" case.

LeendaDLL, I'll yank this post if you want, but I thought I'd share this tragicomedy with a few of my groups.  LeendaDLL is my Vox neighbor, and she recently had an awful date with her real-life next door neighbor Jesus.  It's a long, rambling story, to which I wrote a long, rambling reply, but I think it's a worthy read.  The general consensus is that LeendaDLL should get a restraining order; I'm a little more sympathetic for the guy, and don't think he's a real menace.  I think this is just a case of cultural differences run amok.  What do you think?  Give LeendaDLL your input and support by commenting on her blog (not mine), and be sure to give her a [this is good] if you liked her story.  If you want to talk about or harangue me for my comments, however, then you should probably comment here, and not clutter LeendaDLL's post further.

And if you just hope someone will post pictures of Jesus in his cowboy suit, comment on both places.  :D
